We The Kings.

I will apologize in advance. This may be a rather pathetic first post from me but I’m very new to blogging. Writing music reviews isn’t something that I’ve been doing for years. In fact, this is the first review I’ve ever written. So bear with me.

We The Kings, a pop rock quartet from Florida have most certainly made a name for themselves over the past year or so with a self titled debut album in 2007. But with an announced second album on the way, along with a first single shortly before (Heaven Can Wait), it looks like the guys are on the road to success. Since the first album was released the band have toured with other popular bands including Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Madina Lake and Mayday Parade. They are currently signed to the independent label S-Curve Records.

The Mission District Interview

Q1. ‘So Over You’ has been receiving a lot of coverage, can you tell us a bit about the song and what sort of popularity its gained?

A: For me, So Over You describe that amazing feeling of liberation you get when you finally get over a person. When your not so sad and nostalgic anymore, and you are just ready to go out and see people and enjoy life again. I think that “So Over You” gained some popularity online because everyone seems to connect with the message of the song and the emotions and feelings it conveys.

Mosh Pit Montage!

So, I was browsing through YouTube late at night as usual, clicking from Related video to video, going from Yoda- Starwars – Sci-fi – Stir Fry. Ok maybe that’s a bit exagerated but anyway, I eventually ended up getting to some video montages, the one that namely struck me the most would have to be the ‘Mosh Pit Montage’

Any Rock fan will be able to appreciate a good ‘Mosh Pit’, whether it’s an Elliot Minor to Bring Me The Horizon fan, or Metro Station to Metallica devotee (Sorry Metallica fans for putting you next to them, it pains me to do so =/)

Your Top 5 Songs At The Moment?

Hey everyone!

I’m extremely sorry for my absence on the site this past week, I’m coming towards the end of my holidays so I’ve just been enjoying myself; expect regular posting to commence again very soon!

Something I’m extremely happy about is the team of staff that I’m gradually starting to build up, this will be better in offering you different opinions and more frequent posting. When the team is full and complete then I shall do a post telling you who each new member of staff is and what role they shall play on the site.

Life out loud

All the way from the wonderful city of Cardiff, We’re no hero, a 3 piece band with big ambitions, have recently recorded their debut album, ‘Crossing/Over’ trying to put as much meaning into it as possible – and personally I think it’s safe to say they have achieved that goal, With a calm and sensual introduction ‘Life out loud’ is my personal favourite on their album, as the tempo picks up and the vocal begins you start to find it hard to not bob your head or tap your foot, It’s a song the majority of people could relate to, and if this reminds me of anything it would be libertines before they turned into obnoxious indie boys!

What’s your view: Stereotypes.

Ever since the redesign of the site I’ve been thinking about what I could post. I believe that the new layout has pushed us in a new direction, allowing us to offer more services to bands then ever before. You, the reader also have better accessibility of the site, being able to find new music via the embedded Youtube player and being able to see our ‘hottest stories’ with the rotating images feature that shall be updated periodically.

As you may see, the new site layout has given us a vast quantity of new features:

Clickable images at the top of the page that highlight what we believe to be the ‘hottest posts’ of the moment.

A Youtube playlist containing some of our favourite tracks, the majority will be from previous bands we’ve worked with.

‘Keep Me Updated’ Just type in your email address and press enter, follow the steps and you’ll be able to recieve daily emails; this feature is still in testing so it may not work correctly straight away!

Ng26 hit the spot light

Classic rock got bigger, better and a hell of a lot louder in 2006 when Ng26 formed after years together in a cover band under the name of ‘eclipse’. Luckily members Chris Topley (Lead Singer), Jon Topley (Drums), Rich Shaw (Guitarist) and Rob Shaw (Bassist) have always wanted to be in a band together since they’d met back at heanor gate school.

With Influences ranging from classic rock bands suck as metallica, Guns n’ roses and Pink Floyd clashing with modern rock/metal bands such as Disturbed, Trivium and System of a down, this is a band aiming high and hoping to potentially support a band such a stone sour in the future.

During 2007 Ng26 played around 57 gigs around the Uk and local area – which is pretty impressive to say the least. They even put on a show in a cowshed down in wales this differently proves they know how to rock. In the next year though sadly Ng26 will be cutting down on gigs and focusing on writing new material which in the long run is great, trying to keep fans at the edge of their seats along with delivering more immense atmospheres to tons more gigs.

Looking towards bigger and better things Ng26 is on the verge of a big signing hoping to record a label by the end of the year and with plans to release their second EP ‘One more road from home’ and even recording a music video in a creepy abandoned factory there is definitely a lot to look out for over the next few months.
