Yes. The British outfit have possibly one of the most bizarre sounds I’ve heard, yet it’s not a bad thing by any means. First song Alerion bursts in with the whole techno vibe coupled with metal guitar riffs, meaning that the ravers can rave, and the metal-heads can either mosh or do that thing were they deny they like the band but secretly they have lead singer Danny’s picture in their purses – n’aww.

I’m sure the British amongst us will have read or at least acknowledged the ‘Dear Deidre’ section within the Sun newspaper. A place for people with a ‘troubled’ love life to gain comfort from Deidre’s reassuring words/advice. Hey all, welcome to the first ‘Top 5 Tracks Of The Week’. The article really isn’t in chronological order, I couldn’t place the bands into an order as they’re all pretty epic! So read, enjoy, listen, and love!
My Only Chance:
Day in day out my vision is over-encumbered by red-head, skinny jean wearing midgets of doom! Yes, although I do love Hayley Williams, why do people; especially lead singers of unsigned bands, feel the need to copy Hayley/Paramore ‘to the tee‘? That’s why My Only Chance caught my eye. Dark haired (yay) lead singer Laura has an extremely powerful voice – similar to Hayley’s, yet her voice is extremely distinctive and unique. To relate MOC to Paramore would be like saying Pete Wentz is joining Metallica… not likely to happen! Good band, good sound, good image! Well worth a visit.
This Years Winner Is

An enthusiastic guitar & drum duo catapult us straight into the action faster then Katie Price’s exit at the recent VTA awards. ‘Hit And Hope‘ the first track of unsigned rockers This Years Winner Is, perhaps has to be one of the most up-beat energetic songs I’ve ever heard; a positive backed by a couple of negatives.
Funeral for a Friend – Your History Is Mine

The name, albeit a little ‘controversial’ is somewhat captivating…. perhaps derived from the sign of a dodgy backstreet funeral parlor, or even more bizarrely the name of a new theme park ride? Yet there really is no form of abnormal back story, and the name was in fact inherited from a song by ‘Planes Mistaken for Stars’.
