Fresh from their ‘Local Heroes’ feature in Kerrang, Exeter based punk poppers The Sunshine Getaway (TSG) have signed a deal with management lead label Intruder Records. Having recently completed yet another full UK tour, the deal provides the hard working five piece with a new impetus in their quest to rock the nation. “We have been pushing and working hard as a band and just feel this is the next step. Intruder Records are very driven and have already pushed us forward. They have a high work ethic and its refreshing to see! The Rolling Stones are one of the best known rock bands of all time. They released their first original material “Aftermath” in 1966, which pushed the Stones into new directions. The 1970 “Get Yer Ya-Ya`s Out” remains one of the best live albums of all time, featuring “Sympathy for the Devil”. Even today, as members of the Stones continue to pursue other interests, their 2005 world tour grossed over $400 million, making it the biggest selling tour of the year.
This Is Hell – Weight of The World

‘Anti Flag-esque energy entwined with epic formidable screams’ would be the briefest of brief synopsises to describe This Is Hell’s latest effort. Catapulting directly into first track ‘No One Leaves Unscathed’ a thrashing guitar intro echoes Machine Head 2.0 – even the scorching efforts of drummer Benny Mead hallow closely to Dave McClain’s. The way in which the band seems to conduct a thrash metal meets hardcore punk combo and pulls out a divine album catering towards a multitude of stereotypes within the rock genre is far beyond comprehension. Even track 4 ‘Bloodlines’ begins with a baseline parallel to Rise Against gradually able to transverse to Gallows style vocals that are sure to send surges and tremors down the spines of their doting fanbase.
Spirytus – Self Titled Album Review

With a divine combination of Korn infused riffs and Faith No More monumental melodies you can be assured that Fred Durst was right (for once) when he said “Ladies and Gentleman… Spirtytus! Remember that f**king name!”
Breaking away from mundane metal clichés that extend far further than your Grandfathers’ retrospective wartime stories, Spirytus provide songs under that dreaded six minute mark and still manage to include all the elements of an admirable album.

Far from your average Radio 1 formation these guys aren’t mainstream but are devout Christians.
Therefore, whilst sexy ladies in skimpy outfits prancing around within the video are off the cards, don’t assume FF5 don’t know how to have fun.
Bursting on to the screen with more colour then a raver’s Friday night disco and instantly driving the song forth with a distinctive bass rhythm, an influx of kids obeying the titles command as if their lives really did depend on it is sure to be a regular sight this summer.

I have nothing against the genre, it’s more so the stereotype. ‘Emo’s’ often can’t see why people slate their ‘individuality’ yet why would you put yourself within a generalization when you know it harbours negative connotations? You’ve chose to conform to that ‘label’ and therefore shouldn’t react with anger when people swap your eyeliner for tip-ex and Tray Cyrus poster for a Christina Scabbia pin up.
Yet the main agenda of today’s post is the lyrics. Whilst they may have ‘got people through tough times’ (I do wonder often how many times this claim’s true). There are of course those lyrics which just make the rest of us cringe…

Mayday Parade Music Video NOT April Fools Prank

Last year RockStopScene reviewed Mayday Parade‘s second studio album, Anywhere But Here. I was tempted to give it a score of 7/10, but in the end, a very high and respectable 6/10 seemed more fitting. Regardless of the score I gave it, I still listen to the album regularly, and Kids In Love is my favourite song of theirs (A Lesson in Romantics not-withstanding) so when I found out it was their next single, I was. . .pleased.
