Of course, any rock enthusiast would know that in the current financial climate only the ‘crème de la crème’ or to you and me, the band that delivers the most mosh-tastic album stands a chance at receiving a record deal.
Doing my daily rounds on Myspace, clicking from band to band, forced to view the same monotonous profile again and again. I mean come on haven’t bands realised yet we’re sick of seeing their 5 faces plastered under their somewhat over-the-top banner with a multitude of links to their Twitters? Harsh? Yes. True? Definitely.
Of course that’s not to say all bands are in the same kettle of fish. Neither am I saying that bands shouldn’t have links to their twitters, but please, put your music before trying to grab that bit of fame.

Anyway rant over. Today was different. I happened to reach the profile of a band called Charlie Indestructible. Never heard of them? Neither had I. Perhaps that’s the most elusive quality with the unsigned scene, those bands that manage to slip through the net without receiving the praise that they thoroughly deserve, and might I add that Charlie Indestructible don't have one of those profiles mentioned in the first paragraph! A positive point already.

Their Myspace currently consists of three songs:

1. I'm Back Billy And I Want You
2. My Sweet Revenge
3. Step One Is Establishment (CLIP)

Upon listening I couldn't help but notice an immediate similarity to Funeral For A Friend, the band don't have this listed as a influence but I'd definitely say their likenesses are uncanny. The song I'm Back Billy And I Want You is produced to a phenomenal level, the sound levels are pitch perfect meaning that each member gets to show off their skill without drowning out the vocalist. Even the best of mainstream acts make that mistake, so massive praise to the band for that! Screamo is incorporated into the song without sounding misplaced, and even for someone like me who isn't an avid fan of screamo I thought it really added a whole new level and depth to the song! Of course what's a review without constructive criticism? The segment 1:08-1:11 I really don't like, it just doesn't seem to fit in with the song at all, and I couldn't quite make out the lyrics. If it were me, I would really consider refining that part, or taking it out all together. Other then that there was nothing wrong with the song whatsoever, extremely well made for an unsigned band and I could really see this one reaching Kerrang one day. With the right publicity of course.

The above applies the same to all their songs, and consistency is a must when trying to make it within this industry. The clip of their new song sounds outstanding! A much heavier guitar riff can be heard within the first 30 seconds of the song; which will undoubtedly entice the more 'metal' amongst us to listen. This song sets off the bells ringing Fightstar! which funnily enough is listed under the bands influences.

I'm now left wondering, are the band as talented live as they are recorded? It would be really good if they could perhaps record an acoustic song, or even get a friend to record a live gig. Anything to show the heights the band can reach is going to help them get to their target goals.

Overall:

The band really do deserve your listen. Their spirit and determination flows throughout their music, and produces some extremely addictive songs! Lets just hope they add some more tour dates to the 'upcoming shows' other then Luton.

Nice review.

Although, I have to disagree, that few seconds is good, a little flair, and a nice little one-off-hook.

The only thing worse than not knowing, is you thinking that I don't know.

Yeah I thought some people would like those few seconds, I dunno I guess it's personal preference, stuff like that never really appeals to me.
